Details:This class will feature a deep dive into the nervous system and its relationship to the practice of Structural Integration. Whether our work focuses on alignment, balance, movement, performance or pain, our work is about changing the way people feel and move in their bodies. In this class, we will look deeply in to the neurobiology of how touch, movement, language, emotion, and presence all shape our clients experience of themselves. Through lecture, conversation, and hands-on practice we will clarify many of the complex factors of how the nervous system drives posture, movement, and pain as well as learn new approaches to creating long-lasting, meaningful change in our sessions.

After almost 20 years of study Michael Polon still has the same beginner's excitement when it comes to exploring the art, science, theory and practice of Rolfing® Structural Integration. He began studying at The Rolf Institute in 1998 and began teaching in 2001. Through consistent curiosity and study from within and outside the field of Structural Integration, Michael is passionate about updating the understanding of how anatomy, physiology, movement, posture, pain, therapeutic alliance and healing all come together in our work.
