Event Description

The annual meeting of the Kentucky Organization of Field Stations will take place March 1st and 2nd at the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest! Activities kick off Friday with an optional Jim Beam Distillery tour at 3pm, followed by a pizza dinner, video presentation and campfire discussion at Bernheim in the evening. Saturday morning Andrew Berry, forest manager of Bernheim, will provide an overview of the field station and lead a hike. Following the hike we will hear from several guest speakers, who will discuss a number of exciting research and collaboration opportunities. At lunch, we will feature posters of work at KOFS member stations. Students or field station partners interested in sharing a poster should indicate this on the registration form. This is a great way to share your findings and have meaningful discussions with others from across Kentucky!

Please see the meeting agenda and registration form at the link below. Free lodging is available at the Berneim Bean House, but limited to 10 people (reservations will be filled based on receipt of the registration form). Camping is also an option at Bernheim, or overnight accommodations can be made on your own in nearby Shepherdsville, KY.

Please return the registration form to KOFS secretary, Kelly Watson (kelly.watson@eku.edu) by Monday, February 25th. Look for logistics, directions, and additional information as the meeting draws near. If you have questions, please feel free to email! We look forward to seeing you!
