Basics of Blueprint Reading
Wednesdays: January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 2020
TIME: 3:30-6:00 p.m.
This course is designed to help both field and office personnel gain an understanding of how to read blueprint drawings. It will help you understand what you are looking at and what you are looking for. You’ll learn about drawing types, scale and the interrelationships between drawings and how project information is conveyed throughout a set of construction documents.
Identify and describe various types of construction drawings, including their fundamental components and features.
Identify and describe the purpose of the basic construction drawing components.
Identify and explain the significance of various drawing elements, such as lines of construction, symbols, and grid lines.
Identify and explain the use of dimensions and various drawing scales.
Identify and describe how to use the engineer’s and architect’s scales.

Instructor: John F Pietroniro, President/CFO Project Resource Group, LLC, a full service construction management firm promoting sustainable building practices.
A construction executive for many years, John has also instructed several courses for ABC NH/VT. He holds a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license and CDT certification from the Construction Specifications Institute and achieved his LEED Accredited Professional Status in March of 2008.
