Details
$360 if registered before Nov. 4, after that price increases.Come to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to take the three day Wilderness First Responder (WFR) recertification. The Open Recertification course is open to graduates of all wilderness medical training courses of 64 hours or longer with a current Wilderness First Responder certification. Successful graduates of this course will receive Wilderness Medical Associates’ Wilderness First Responder, Anaphylaxis, and BLS/Healthcare Provider-level CPR certifications. Certain WEMT graduates with a current EMT-B or Paramedic certificate may also recertify the wilderness portion of their WEMT with this course.
We also offer a low cost "Camping in the Rec Center", which is optional. The price for this is $50. It includes: common floor space in a fitness studio, locker room showers, and access to a refrigerator and microwave. It is also a great way to develop a study group and interact with other students in the course. It costs an additional $50 for camping in the Rec for all classes. This $50 also includes a round trip shuttle from and to the airport and a grocery run.
You may bring your own food, and there are several local restaurants within walking distance.
Students must register at least 2 weeks before the course date. All students must complete all pre-course work prior to arrival on course. The course includes books, tuition, and fees for $360, if deposit is paid by November 4, 2016. After November 4th price increases.
Pre-register on line.There is a $250 deposit due in order to complete your registration and ensure you a spot. This can be paid by check, credit card, or cash.
