Our conference will kickoff at 8:00 am with breakfast and the opening session will start at 9:00 am with a welcome address from Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, Louisiana Commissioner of Higher Education. This year's luncheon keynote speaker is Sheri, Coale, former collegiate basketball coach for OU Women's Basketball.

Dr. Reed is currently the only female in the country to have served as a state higher education leader in multiple states.  She is a proven advocate for students and has worked extensive higher education and government experience. In addition to her work at the Louisiana Board of Regents and the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Dr. Reed served in President Obama's administration as deputy undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Education, where she also led the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  Dr. Reed was honored with the 2020 Exceptional Leader award by the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association.  In January 2023, she was named as one of the nation's Top 10 Black Higher Education Leaders by Forbes.

Dr. Reed is a native of Lake Charles, LA, received a doctorate in public policy from Southern University and A&M College, as well as a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in boradcast journalism from Louisiana State University and A&M College.

Sherri Coale built one of the most successful legacies in women's basketball.  She began her career as an English teacher and assistant coach at Edmond Memorial High School before leading Norman High School to multiple state championships.  At the age of 31, she was named head coach at The University of Oklahoma (OU), where she spent 25 years guiding the program to excellence.  Under her leadership, OU women's basketball captured multiple Bix XII titles, made 19 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, and advanced to three Final Fours.  She coached four All-Americans, 14 WNBA draft picks, and countless players who went on to impactful careers.

Internationally, Coale served with USA Basketball, earning a gold medal as head coach at the 2013 World University Games.  Beyond the court, she is a writer, speaker, and consultant, continuing to inspire audiences with lessons from a lifetime in leadership, competition and resilience.
