Employment Opportunities Title:
The City of Northglenn, a dynamic municipality located just north of Denver, is looking for an energetic and highly motivated Utility Technician to fill a vacancy in our Electrical and Mechanical Division. This position involves technical work in the maintenance, repair and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment related to the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.
This full-time position hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime as necessary. Willing to work standby (ON CALL) on rotational basis.
Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) supplemented with one year of experience in utility system electro/mechanic work, light industrial work or sanitary engineering; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledges, abilities and skills; mechanical practices and procedures, basic pipefitting, elementary electricity and of the tools used in maintenance and repair work as well as considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary for the safe conduct of work around mechanical and electrical equipment.
Knowledge of utility systems; electrical mechanical work; boiler plant or physical plant experience. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics. Knowledge of mechanical practices and procedures associated with water and wastewater utilities. Instrumentation troubleshooting and calibration for Water and Wastewater systems.
