The City of Northglenn is seeking an energetic and highly motivated candidate interested in the Industrial Pretreatment and Backflow Prevention field.

This position consists of technical, professional, and administrative work in running the City of Northglenn's Industrial Pretreatment (IP) and Backflow Prevention (BP) Programs. This position may occasionally assist in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Facility (including some weekends). The incumbent works in direct partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, external entities, and the public and must possess exemplary communication skills.

Other responsibilities include administering the industrial user permit process, overseeing monitoring and sampling programs, collecting samples and interpreting water quality data, preparing and submitting various reports to State and Federal regulatory agencies, testing all City-owned backflow preventers, inspecting grease traps and interceptors, surveying commercial properties for cross-connections, and responding to complaints and inquiries.



Qualifications:
Requires 2-4 years experience in chemical analyses or water/wastewater treatment (including field work and laboratory experience) Bachelor's degree, with major coursework in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry or a closely-related discipline preferred, Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Possession of a Colorado Level D Wastewater Plant Operators License and ABPA cross-connection certification (or the ability to acquire within 1 year) is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs with an emphasis on Excel and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion is also required. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License with a good driving record at time of hire (current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be required from all applicants selected for interviews). Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical with a drug screen.


Comments:
Starting Salary Range: $53,581-$58,000/year, plus excellent benefits
(Full Salary Range: $53,581-$71,505)
