Do you have a passion to build and lead a maintenance crew? Is your best day when someone you have coached or mentored is successful with a promotion or passing the certification tests? Then the Wastewater Maintenance Foreman position is the job for you. You will be responsible for not only supervising work in the maintenance, repair, construction, and operations of the City's wastewater collection system, but also for building a team environment where everyone can succeed. The work involves leading, planning, organizing, supervising and participating, as necessary, in the activities of a group of laborers and skilled workers. Your performance and success will be evaluated based on your ability to lead the wastewater maintenance team to meet desired objectives and professional goals in a work environment aligned with the city's mission and values.

This is a full-time, benefited position with a mandatory requirement to work overtime. Must be able to respond within thirty minutes when on-call. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to federally mandated random drug and alcohol testing.

The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,500 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.


Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses and Certifications
Required:
*Graduation from high school or GED
*Seven (7) years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of water and sewer lines
*Three (3) years of experience in the supervisory or lead capacity of a construction and maintenance crew
*Colorado Class 4 Collections Certification (or eligible for reciprocity)
*Valid driver's license and maintain safe driving record for continued employment
*Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver License with tanker and air brake endorsement within 90 days of employment
*Must be able to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical upon hire and then every two (2) years after that
*Clear understanding of all regulations as they pertain to the wastewater collection system
*Effective plan review skills and full understanding of current city code and specifications

Preferred:
*Associate's degree or higher with course work in Construction Management, Business Administration or related area of study
*Dual Colorado Class 4 Certification in Collections and Distribution
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
