About the job
As a Regional Security Intel Specialist, you will use open source material to find, research and assess information that could indicate a potential threat or concern to Google and its employees. You will create detailed reports of incidents using incident management reporting systems and assist in incident response. In this role, you will help develop protocols and practices to assess and mitigate threats to Google, drive efficiency and manage crises.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Use open source material to find, research and assess information that could indicate a potential threat or concern to Google or its employees.
Collect, evaluate and disseminate intelligence to support action plans based on credibility and likelihood in collaboration with Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Managers and Intelligence Analysts.
Support the development of protocols and practices to assess and mitigate threats to Google, drive efficiency and manage crises.
Provide intelligence support to the GSOC in incident response, crisis management and global travel management.

Qualifications:
MIN QUALS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in Corporate Security, Military or law Enforcement.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.


Preferred qualifications:

PhD.
Experience as an open source researcher in the public or private sector, using social media to conduct threat research focused on risk.
Experience supporting decision-makers with intelligence about emerging threats, potential issues of concern or imminent crisis.
Experience using technology to track threats/risks or escalate items of potential concern and G Suite.
Experience thinking critically, analyzing information and summarizing findings in writing.
Developed interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
