Job Summary:
This non-exempt position is responsible for operating a biological nutrient removal process (secondary treatment) and an advanced wastewater treatment (tertiary filter) system.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Uses a SCADA computer system and manual controls to operate and monitor the advanced wastewater treatment (AWT), and the biological nutrient removal (BNR) process and adjusts chemicals and equipment, in accordance with regulatory permits.
• Operates pumps, engines, generators, and valves to control processes at wastewater plants and lift stations. Inspects equipment and makes recommendations to the Water Resources Lead Operator regarding necessary repairs, maintenance and calibration.
• Collects daily wastewater samples, performs multiple laboratory tests, maintains accurate laboratory records, and notifies Lead Operator when parameters are outside of established norms.
• Adjusts and maintains related gas chlorination system and chemical feed systems; replace cylinders; switch chlorinators and check analyzers. Handles chlorine gas cylinders during replacement, operations, delivery and storage. Handles related chemicals for delivery and storage.

Qualifications:
• Experience requirements range from zero to multiple years. Certification requirements range from none at time of hire to an “A” wastewater certification.
• If the employee has no water or wastewater certification at hire, they must acquire a “D” license in wastewater within two testing cycles of hiring date.
• Must have, or obtain within one year, a valid Colorado Class B CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsement and remove the airbrake restriction. Must have a Motor Vehicle Record within the Acceptable or no less than Borderline rating according to the Vehicle Policy.
Comments:
Rate of Pay: $21.10-$31.10 per hour depending on experience & certifications.
