Summary of Position:
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure REC is meeting all contract and state requirements for each client. The Operations specialist oversees Operations under the direct supervision of the Vice President. The duties listed below are a basic outline of expected tasks. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interprets facility compliance requirements (permits & water monitoring plans) as well as operational concerns and assists the field personnel in maintaining compliance and process control decisions.
- Support & Assist with field personnel with on-call rotations.
- Help cover field personnel vacation rotations.
- Assess and Approve all ordering of supplies prior to passing on to Operations Support
- Assist in updating operations monitoring and reporting software (Operator 10) for all water and wastewater customers.
- Monitor and maintain preventative maintenance database (Antero).
- Perform facility inspections to ensure cleanliness as well as that regulatory and contractual requirements are being met.
- Support office personnel including AR/AP and operations support staff.
- Assist VP of Operations for planning, organizing and managing daily operations and maintenance for multiple water, wastewater and industrial wastewater clients.
- Thorough knowledge of all contractual agreements pertaining to clients
- Ensures compliance with established environmental, safety, operating and emergency response procedures.
- Represents company and interfaces with clients. Routine meetings with clients.
- Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports for client activities and regulatory reporting (Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act).
- Prepares operations reports and internal memos in a timely manner to take corrective actions to resolve issues before they become problems.
- Regulatory Inspections: routine inspections, tank inspections, flow meter Calibrations Etc.
- Fully Understand and Interpret the Primary Drinking Water Regulations & NPDES
- Have a working knowledge of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Act

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid State of Colorado Class A Water Treatment Operator Certificate or a State of Colorado Class A Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate. It is preferred to have both or acquire the second certificate within 2 years. Minimum 2 year degree in water quality management or similar field. Extensive related work experience will be considered in place of degree.

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in either water or wastewater field required. This should include work in directing, motivating and training staff. Working knowledge of SCADA and equipment maintenance repair and troubleshooting.
