Parker Water and Sanitation District is accepting applications for a Chief Water Plant Operator for the Water Resources Department.

JOB SUMMARY
This non-exempt position is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing the work of water treatment plant operators. Responsible for operating, monitoring, controlling, testing and troubleshooting a membrane water treatment plant. Ensures the plant meets or exceeds all Federal, State, and local regulations.

Duties will include, but not limited to:
• Responsible for leading, coaching, training and directing a team of water operators of various educational, certification and practical skill levels in areas of water operations.
• Responsible for trouble shooting equipment and process control issues and working closely with the maintenance and IT departments for equipment repairs and scheduling. Performs appropriate follow-up procedures and keeps the Lead Operator informed.
• Oversees assigned operators and along with them, operate pumps, engines, generators and valves to control processes at membrane water treatment plant, reservoirs, storage tanks and booster stations according to standard operating procedures. Inspects equipment and makes recommendations to the Lead Operator regarding necessary repairs and maintenance.


Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have a Colorado Class B (or higher) certification in Water. Receiving a Class A certification in Water within 2 testing cycles is a requirement. Demonstrates extensive responsible administrative and supervisory experience.

Must have, or be able to obtain, within 1 year, a valid Colorado Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and remove the airbrake restriction. Must have a Motor Vehicle Record within the Acceptable rating according to the Vehicle Policy.


Comments:
Salary range: $33.92-44.86/hour dependent on prior knowledge and experience. Excellent benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance plus retirement plans.
