Centennial Water and Sanitation District, which serves the community of Highlands Ranch, CO and adjoining portions of northern Douglas County, is seeking an experienced Director of Water and Wastewater Operations. The current population of Highlands Ranch is more than 95,000 residents. The District’s operations include surface-water diversions and pumping systems; raw-water transmission and reservoir storage; surface-water and ground-water treatment; treated-water transmission, distribution, and metering; and wastewater collection and treatment. The District also operates a robust conjunctive use system with over 50 Denver Basin and four alluvial supply wells, and a proven aquifer storage and recovery system. The District has extensive surface- and ground-water resources, and is an member of the South Metro Water Supply Authority, the South Metro WISE Authority, the Colorado Water Congress, the American Water Works Association, the Water and Environment Federation, and the Chatfield Reallocation Mitigation Company.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Reports to the General Manager and works in collaboration with other directors and managers to achieve the District’s goals and objectives.

* Prepares and manages annual Operations budgets.

* Supervises division managers and department support staff, either directly or through subordinates.

* Collaborates with water resources staff on the delivery of raw water from surface water and ground water sources for treatment and transmission.

* Responsible for carrying out water and wastewater operations to meet community service demands and assure operations comply with all Stare and Federal regulations, including CDPHE permit conditions.

* Oversees the development of short- and long-range plans related to operation of the District’s water and wastewater infrastructure, staff, maintenance, and capital investments.


Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in civil or environmental engineering, public administration, or a closely related field. A Colorado professional engineering license is desirable for the position.

* Minimum of six years previous public works experience including an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment systems and operations, at least two years in management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

* A valid Colorado driver’s license.

* Certification as a Class-A water and/or wastewater treatment plant operator is desirable for the position.
