The Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) Coordinator position can best be defined as internal and external PR. The coordinator ensures that program operation plans are developed and executed. The CGIC Coordinator drives change and process improvements within the department and community. The CGIC Coordinator is also tasked with running the social media, community engagement, and creating/organizing training opportunities relating to CGIC for the department. The position of the CGIC Coordinator is focused heavily on managing the CGIC project which involves data collection, production, and dissemination relating to strategy, planning, and organizational effectiveness efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and plan trainings for the department.
Create and manage project goals and objectives that operationalize the CGIC strategy.
Focus on building and expanding the community engagement strategy, such as social media outreach, district tip posters, and district community walks.
Work with project partners to identify challenges, manage problems, solutions and provide updates.
Determine officers to be recognized for their excellent work relating to NIBIN leads.
Maintain and update CGIC contact lists and distribution lists.
Work collaboratively with the CGIC Team to fulfill all project guidelines and initiatives.
Identify project challenges and solutions.
Document all project activities, including maintenance of meeting minutes, contact information, and activity reports.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university,
OR
NOTES(EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: It is preferred that candidates have some experience with local, State, or Federal law enforcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
They must possess the ability to work with and coordinate the efforts of local, State, and Federal law enforcement; to plan and complete complex projects and present those plans and projects to a group; and to identify and overcome obstacles to those plans.
