Parker Water and Sanitation District is accepting applications for a Water Operator for the Water Resources Department.

JOB SUMMARY
This non-exempt position is responsible for operating, monitoring, controlling, testing and troubleshooting a well-based water supply and distribution system, and a potable water treatment plant.

Some duties include, but not limited to:
• Uses a SCADA computer system and manual controls to operate and monitor: 1) The potable water treatment process and adjusts chemicals and equipment in accordance with regulatory permits; and 2) The well system water supply and distribution system to maintain adequate water levels in the storage tanks by determining daily needs based on computer generated data, experience and seasonal / weather changes.
• Operate pumps, engines, generators, and valves to control processes at wells, booster stations and reservoirs. Operate the water wells, water treatment plant, booster stations and storage tanks according to the Standard Operating Procedures. Inspects equipment and makes recommendations to the Water Resources Lead Operator regarding necessary repairs, maintenance and calibration.
• Collects water samples, performs multiple laboratory tests, maintains accurate laboratory records, and notifies Lead Operator when parameters are outside of established norms.

Qualifications:
Experience requirements range from zero to multiple years. Certification requirements range from none at time of hire to an “A” water certification. If the applicant has no water certification at hire, they must acquire a “D” license in water within two testing cycles of hiring date.

Must have, or be able to obtain, within 1 year, a valid Colorado Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and remove the airbrake restriction. Must have a Motor Vehicle Record within the Acceptable rating according to the Vehicle Policy.

Comments:
Salary range: $19.39-$33.95/hour dependent on prior knowledge, experience and licenses. Range covers applicants with no license to “A” license in water. Excellent benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance plus retirement plans.
