Parker Water and Sanitation District is accepting applications for a full-time Collection & Distribution Lead Operator for the Water Resources Department.

JOB SUMMARY
This non-exempt position is responsible for leading a team of operators and for performing a wide variety of semi-skilled and manual work involved in the maintenance, installation, and repair of the District’s water distribution and sewer collection systems. Lead and assist in the supervision of operators, and inspect and review work methods, performance and quality. Minimum of Colorado Class 1 Collection and Colorado Class 1 Distribution certifications are required.

Duties will include, but not limited to:
• Responsible for leading, coaching, training, and directing a team of operators of various educational, certification and practical skill levels in both the collection and distribution areas of operations.
• Responsible for trouble shooting equipment and process control issues and working closely with the maintenance and IT departments, vendors and contractors for equipment repairs and scheduling. Performs appropriate follow-up procedures and keeps the Water Resources Superintendent informed.
• Oversees assigned operators and along with them, operate pumps, engines, generators and valves to control processes at lift stations, reservoirs, wells, storage tanks and booster stations according to standard operating procedures. Inspects equipment and makes recommendations to the Water Resources Superintendent regarding necessary repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications:
A minimum of Colorado Class 1 Collection and Colorado Class 1 Distribution certifications are required (certifications with a higher class are highly desirable). Colorado Class 3 Collection and Class 3 Distribution certifications are required within 3 years of hire. Previous lead worker experience is desirable.

Must have, or be able to obtain within two years, a valid Colorado Class A CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsement and removal of airbrake restriction. Must have a Motor Vehicle Record within the Acceptable or no less than Borderline rating according to the Vehicle Policy.

Comments:
Salary range: $33.92-$44.86/hour dependent on prior knowledge, experience and certifications. Range covers applicants with no certification to Class 4 certification in collection and distribution. Excellent benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance plus retirement plans.
