Location:Town of Morrison
Perform daily operations of water and wastewater treatment. Perform daily operation in collection and distribution systems.

• Lead operator reports to the Public Works Director
•Performs operations and adjustments of water, wastewater, collections and distribution systems
•Performs and oversees maintenance of town infrastructure when approved by Public Works Director
•Updates, modifies and creates SOP (standard operating procedures) and submit to Public Works Director for approval
•Orders supplies, equipment and chemicals contingent on approval of the Public Works Director
•Trains, guides and oversees other operators when asked to do so
•Continuous communication with Public Works Director; providing updates and feedback for any and all issues
•Available to be on-call for weekend work, holidays and emergencies
•Attends meetings and project sites when requested by the Public Works Director
•Ability to take the lead and manage projects delegated by the Public Works Director as it pertains to the Utility Department
•Ability to be flexible and available (example: come in early or stay late as needed)
• Oversee and verify that monthly operation reports and MWAT for WWTP are completed by the 1st of every month for the Public Works Director use for state reporting.
•Ability to do state sampling when delegated by Public Works Director
•Maintenance and repair of Utility Department infrastructure.
•Perform sampling and lab testing for operational control and compliance with CDPHE and EPA regulations.
•Perform additional sampling/testing as indicated by plant standards and performance.
•Effective communication with Public Works Director and other operators.
•Provide accurate log notes and proper documentation of plant operations.
•Perform chemical dosage/usage calculations.
•Perform water production/usage projections.
•Rotating of weekends, holidays and "on-call" shifts required.
•Additional duties as assigned.
•Plant equipment including on-line and bench lab equipment, pumps, and motors.
•Specialized equipment such as decanters and sludge de-watering equipment.
•Hand and power tools.
•Motorized vehicles such as trucks, Kubota tractor, and backhoe.

•Indoor work includes exposure to liquid and dry chemicals. Exposure to operating machinery.
•Outdoor work during inclement weather conditions.
•Some indoor and outdoor conditions can require site assessment before entry and/or intervention.
•Requires hand/eye and foot/eye coordination for operating machines including trucks, tractors, backhoe etc.
•Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing less than 50 pounds.
•The ability to lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.
•Often on your feet walking or standing to monitor treatment plant operations.

•Minimum of a B water or wastewater certificate (prefer certification in both disciplines).
•Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED including coursework in Algebra, Biology, and Chemistry.
•Strongly recommend coursework in Water Quality Management.
•Construction, electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical maintenance experience is helpful.
•Prefer prior experience in the water and/or wastewater industry.
•Knowledge of safety practices and requirements in the utility industry.
•Working knowledge of PCs, including software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
•Valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record.

Comments:Full Time: 40 hours a week
Position: B - A Operator
Salary: $24.00 - $29.00 an hour
