An employee in this class performs highly responsible managerial, administrative and professional work in assisting the Public Works Department General Manager or designee in the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system and the maintenance of the County’s storm sewer system; does related work as required. Serves as a general assistant to the Public Works Department General Manager or designee, specifically in the management of all personnel within and work performed by the Environmental Operations Division, which includes the Sewer Operations, Plant Operations and the Construction Support sections.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least ten (10) years of civil engineering experience, specifically related to sanitary sewer systems, and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible management of utility operations and maintenance activities. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of experience, education or training directly related to the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
