A Crime Analyst performs crime analysis for the North Las Vegas Police Department and other authorized agencies. Provides police personnel with crime data analysis for manpower allocations, strategic planning, and tactical operations; and performs a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in Criminal Justice, Business/Public
Administration, Sociology or closely related field and a minimum of two (2) years of statistical and
analytical experience in a law enforcement agency or,
Equivalency: Six (6) years of statistical and analytical experience with a minimum of two (2) years of
experience preferably in a law enforcement agency and/or any combination of education, training,
and experience which produces the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job and related
to the essential functions of the position.
Prior crime analysis training and experience preferred. Completed college level course work in
statistics and research methods preferred.
Experience with GIS and SQL.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid state drivers license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the
ability to obtain an appropriate Nevada state drivers license within required time frame.
NCIC/NCJIS Certification required within six (6) months of hire/reclassification.

Pay Considerations The starting hourly pay for this position is $35.86. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience.
Work Schedule This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week), Tuesday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm
