The Maintenance position is responsible for various work associated with the wastewater treatment plant and interceptor system. The applicant must be able to perform routine, preventative and emergency maintenance on all plant equipment including pumps, motors, air blowers, valves, piping and force mains, sewer lines and interceptors, including manholes, buildings and structures, HVAC systems, and electrical and control systems. The applicant will also be responsible for general housekeeping duties, janitorial duties, and grounds and maintenance duties. Qualifications:
Work with and under the direction of the Foreman in performing interceptor sewer and SSO regulator station flow monitoring, including the installation, maintenance and data collection from flow monitors and automatic samplers.
Demonstrate the capability of installing, maintaining, and using the sewer system flow monitoring equipment, software, and interpretation of the raw and final flow data.
Must have familiarity with, and be proficient in the use of current computer software utilized by WWMA, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Rockwell SCADA software and Antero Maintenance Data Management software.
Must be capable of performing routine, preventative and emergency maintenance on all plant equipment and physical structures, pump stations, force mains, interceptors and appurtenances utilizing established Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible for responding to, and resolving plant and pump station alarm calls, including fire and security alarms, plant operational and equipment alarms and electrical power and distribution alarms.
Be capable and proficient in using hand tools, power tools and other maintenance equipment in a proper and safe manner.
Must be capable of using and climbing multilevel steps, extension ladders, stair towers and working from elevated platforms and scaffolds.
Must be capable of, have the ability to learn and properly use and operate, various plant process and solids handling and dewatering equipment in accordance with established SOPs.
Must be capable and proficient in operating all Authority heavy equipment and capable of maintaining all Authority vehicles.
For new employees hired after the Posting of this combined and newly created MAINTENANCE position (August 29, 2017), and as a condition of continuing employment, must obtain, possess, and maintain, at all times, a valid, current Class A PaDOT Commercial Drivers License (CDL), with appropriate endorsements and pass any and all required DOT testing, including FHA drug/alcohol testing and applicable physicals at time of hire, or obtain same within nine (9) months of date of hire.
Perform general housekeeping duties, including, but not limited to, hosing tanks, cleaning tanks and pits, cleaning floors and equipment, grinding, sanding, and painting structures and equipment.
Perform yard and grounds maintenance (plowing snow, cutting grass, trimming shrubs & bushes).
Perform general janitorial duties.
Current employees must possess and maintain, at all times, a valid and current PaDOT drivers license.
Shall be required to attend any continuing education and/or vocational training as may be directed by the General Manager
Shall be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, call-outs, scheduled overtime, and various shifts as defined elsewhere in this Labor Agreement.
Will assist all other plant personnel as directed and/or perform other duties as required by management.
