Are you looking for an opportunity to work with Tennessee State Parks? Our Tennessee State Parks are among the most beautiful parks in the United States. We have an opportunity at the beautiful Dunbar Cave State Park in Clarksville. This park is one of the most historically and culturally significant landscapes in Tennessee, containing nationally recognized Mississippian-era cave art and critical archaeological resources. The park encompasses more than 140 acres centered around a significant cave system and provides guided cave tours, environmental education, special events, and day-use recreation. This role is suited for a leader who values preservation and can guide a team in protecting a place that reflects Tennessee’s story across centuries.

Provide leadership and operational oversight, ensuring protection of nationally significant archaeological and cultural resources.

Supervise commissioned park rangers and staff, maintaining responsibility for law enforcement, visitor safety, and regulatory compliance.

Manage sensitive cave resources and archaeological sites while overseeing guided tours and interpretive programming.

Lead budgeting, staffing, maintenance planning, and daily operations to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Engage with local communities, partners, and researchers to support preservation and promote understanding of the park’s historical significance.

Qualifications:
This role is suited for a leader who values preservation and can guide a team in protecting a place that reflects Tennessee's story across centuries. The preferred candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills and be comfortable leading and mentoring staff. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Natural Resources, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, History, Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field and three or more years of cultural or natural resource management experience. The candidate is required to be a state commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or is willing to become commissioned.
