The Town of Erie Public Works Department, is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician I/II D&C. The Maintenance Technician positions provide a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled laboring tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of Town streets, roadways, water distribution system, wastewater collection systems, rights of ways and other Town infrastructure.

Salary range Maintenance Technician I: $17.15/hr. - $20.38/hr.
Salary range experienced Maintenance Technician II: $19.82/hr. - $23.56/hr.

The below list is intended to be illustrative of the responsibilities of the position and not all encompassing. The Town may change these duties at any time.

•Performs a variety of duties that requires considerable knowledge of the use and wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Assists, performs and/or directs a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities to include sewer jetting, storm water system maintenance, hydrant flushing and maintenance, street signage, street sweeping, vacuum truck operations.
•Operates heavy and light duty equipment to perform related maintenance and construction assignments.
•Performs a variety of meter reading tasks to include reading residential, raw water and commercial meters, conducting turnoffs/turn-ons, changing out meters and maintaining detailed records of all activities.
•Performs a variety of heavy laboring activities including the use of hand tools, light power equipment and heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
•Performs or inspects concrete and asphalt installations and works with Town inspectors as needed.
•Performs routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance activities on vehicles and equipment and maintains records of activities.
•Manufactures, installs and maintains a variety of specialized and complex equipment and performs light mechanical repair and maintenance.
•Performs data entry of information, maintenance logs and other data.
•Maintains a safe working environment to include working in traffic and congested areas, working in ditches and confined spaces and all work environments.
•Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
•Prepares necessary records and reports.
•Assists in the cleaning and organization of shop area.
•Performs snow removal activities either by hand, small equipment or heavy equipment as assigned.
•Must be able to work on-call schedule as assigned.
•Performs related work as required and assigned.

•Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems involving variables in any standardized situation.
•Ability to supervise and direct subordinates in the absence of division supervisor.
•Availability to work on-call schedule.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent.
•One year of laboring, heavy maintenance, equipment operations or other construction experience.
•To qualify at the II level, must have an additional two years of experience in the operation of equipment used in the maintenance of Public Works infrastructure or related structures/systems.
•A combination of education and experience may be considered.
•Valid Colorado Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
•Flagger's Certificate for Level II (level I must acquire within one year).
•Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License Class Band satisfactory driving record for level II (level
I must acquire within one year).•Wastewater Collection System Certificate for Level II.
