The Town of Castle Rock has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Water Distribution System Operator to join the Castle Rock Water Department. Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance functions in the operation, construction, repair, maintenance and replacement of the Town’s water, sewer and storm water lines, facilities and infrastructure. Employees in this classification perform complex work requiring a broad technical expertise. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.

This position is part of the Town’s snow removal program. This will include scheduled on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal shifts are typically 12 hours.


Qualifications:
Qualifications generally include a High School diploma or G.E.D.; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience that includes construction and repair of underground facilities and operation of heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A State of Colorado – Class 2 Operator Certification in assigned discipline (Water Distribution or Waste Water collection) or ability to obtain within 1 year; and preferred Class 1 in non-assigned discipline. A valid Colorado Class A CDL driver’s license with Tank Vehicle endorsement is required, or ability to obtain within 6 months. Candidate must satisfactorily complete a driving record check, drug screening and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
