This is supervisory and technical work involving responsibility for the direction and operation of the District’s water utility system. Under general direction from the District Manager, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of Water Distribution Operations, including staff management, preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets, planning, encroachments and right-of-way management, customer service, and the management of distribution systems and water quality issues.
The Distribution Manager is responsible for the operation, management and maintenance of all distribution facilities including but not limited to pipelines, pump stations, control vaults, storage tanks, and metering equipment; District fleet and equipment; District shop and other facilities. It is expected that the Distribution Manager will provide highly responsible and technical assistance to further the district’s mission and goals relating to operations, asset management, backflow prevention, billing and metering, water quality, and capital improvements. The employee in this position exercises considerable independent judgment in scheduling and directing departmental activities.

Qualifications:
Possession of a Class 3 Distribution Operator Certificate or higher, or the ability to obtain based on experience and education, is preferred.

Comments:
