East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District (ECCV) is looking for a full-time Operator to join its dedicated team of professionals.
We are looking for individuals who will embrace the variety and challenge of operating one of the largest well systems in the Denver metro area. Our team is comprised of people who take pride in their jobs, utilize their expertise, and can be trusted by our customers, Board, and staff to deliver the highest quality service possible.
Our Operators provide critical support to our mission through daily operation of water production, treatment, distribution, and wastewater collection. Operators will gain well-rounded experience performing a variety of responsibilities including:

• Utilize Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to monitor all aspects of water production and distribution to meet daily water demands.
• Respond to on-call issues including SCADA alarms, customer complaints, main breaks, etc.
• Participate in various inspection programs such as our Valve Exercising Program.
• Perform annual fire hydrant flushing to remove sediment build-up and ensure proper hydrant operation.
• Oversee repairs of our distribution and collection infrastructure.
• Work a variety of hours and days, including holidays and weekends; may be required to work a rotating on-call schedule and be available to work overtime as needed.

ECCV serves approximately 55,000 customers in the eastern portions of the City of Centennial and unincorporated Arapahoe County. A successful candidate for this job will meet or exceed the following

Qualifications:

• Minimum Level C Water Treatment Colorado Certification or equivalent.
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds from ground to waist to move manhole covers; occasional lifting of up to eighty (80) pounds from ground to shoulder to move cement bags and equipment and occasional lifting of forty (40) pounds overhead; Exposure to environmental conditions such as, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, fumes, hazardous materials, machinery, vibrations, water hazards, and bright/dim light; Work in confined spaces.
• On-call rotation and overtime.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and pass a background check.
• Preferred:
- Level B Water Treatment Colorado Certification or higher with 3 + years water treatment, utilities operations or related field or combination of education, certifications and experience preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to water operations, including collection and distribution systems, as well as, knowledge and understanding of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office products.
- Class 2 Distribution and Class 1 Collections System certification.
