Distribution Systems Operator

Widefield Water and Sanitation District (WWSD) is located in the southern portion of Colorado Springs, Colorado. WWSD is seeking and prefers a minimum Class 1 Distribution Systems Operator (or higher). Will consider entry level trainee applicants. The position will repair water main leaks, service fire hydrants, service valves, read meters, replace meters, take samples, respond to customer service requests, operate heavy equipment, feed chemicals, perform maintenance, and operate the domestic water system. This is a full-time position with rotating on-call schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED, A Colorado Class “B” CDL (“A” CDL will be given preference), and at least two-years of verifiable experience operating a back-hoe is preferred at the time of applying. Applicants should have knowledge of the production, storage, and transmission of water as well as the repair and maintenance of water facilities including wells, pump stations, storage tanks, valves, hydrants, pressure regulating stations, and related equipment. Outstanding customer service skills a must.
