General Responsibility:
Serve as a Threat Analysis Team (TAC) Analyst in the SC Information and Intelligence Center (SCIIC) for the SC Law Enforcement Division.

Specific Duties:
Perform intelligence/technical analysis and strategic analysis from all sources to determine criminal or terrorist activities and compile appropriate briefings or products. Field and handle requests from federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the furtherance of apprehending subjects involved in criminal and terrorist activity, and provide timely collection and dissemination of information.

Operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment utilizing a variety of databases and search tools to support federal, state, and local law enforcement. Produce analytical products on the state and national level concerning criminal and/or terrorist threats. Coordinate information sharing with federal partners (DHS, FBI, ICE, ATF, TSC, NCTC, etc.). Respond to TSC hits as requested.

Conduct preliminary trend analysis, monitoring for any gaps in available intelligence and any unusual circumstances, changes, or identified patterns. Summarize the methods used, the results collated, the conclusions, and the recommendations. Provide any supplementary materials in the appropriate formats. Provide threat assessments to state, local, and private sector partners as requested.

Maintain a professional knowledge of current trends and developments in the field through training events and inter-agency exercises, and apply pertinent new knowledge to the performance of other responsibilities. Conduct presentations on the capabilities of the SCIIC to state, local, and private sector entities, and provide National SAR Initiative (NSI) training.

Initiate special projects, work both independently and as part of a team, gather information related to specific criminal or administrative investigation, and disseminate information in an effective and efficient manner.

Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree.

Must have significant analytical skills, such as the ability to perform intelligence analysis and evaluate raw data from all sources to determine criminal or terrorist activities and also be skilled in verbal and written communications.

Must have the ability to identify and define problems then coordinate the analysis and resolution with numerous organizational elements.

Must be capable of compiling information and data into written products; follow security procedures for handling images, law enforcement sensitive and Department proprietary information.

Familiarization with biometric software to conduct comparisons of unknown images.

This position involves critical duties and responsibilities that must continue to be performed during crisis situations and contingency operations. Necessary responsiveness may require certain special considerations, such as extended overnight travel and rotational hours of work.

Position may require Top Secret clearance or to be eligible for Top Secret clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in intelligence or research analysis (emphasis intelligence)

Experience using programs and technology such as databases, Excel, Publisher, I-2, Analyst Notebook, etc.

Comments:
STATE SALARY RANGE: $26,988.00 - $49,932.00 Annually
