Organization: The Oakland County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (OC CISMA) is a partnership in Oakland County, Michigan working to cooperatively manage invasive species. The partnership includes approximately 30 local, county, state and federal government agencies; education institutions; and non-profit organizations.

Position: The Invasive Species Technician position will be responsible for implementation of invasive species monitoring, while assisting with treatment coordination, training CISMA partners, landowner outreach, and education efforts. The technician will be trained in Watch List species identification to increase early detection/rapid response (EDRR) capacity. A strong willingness to learn, work cooperatively with stakeholders, work independently, and educate the general public is necessary. The Invasive Species Technician reports to the OC CISMA Coordinator, and is an employee of Six Rivers Land Conservancy, the OC CISMA fiduciary.


Qualifications:
Qualifications: Must possess an awareness of conservation issues and ecological principles as they relate to invasive species management; able to identify plant and animal species; proficient with GIS software; skill in data collection and management; possess ability and willingness to obtain additional training; able to perform physical work in harsh conditions and inclement weather; and able to work under minimal supervision. Must be able to provide own transportation if needed. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
