Details:
Offering one position at either the Maintenance Technician entry level $17.59 to $21.98 or Streets Utilities Technician II level; 18 months exp and CDL "B" license, $19.02 to $23.77. Lateral hires are encouraged to apply.

Performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor to support the maintenance and construction of City streets, water distribution and waste water collection lines, properties, facilities and other sites under City obligation. Responsibility and skills needed to properly perform the functions of the job, increase with the level of the position beginning with: Maintenance Technician and progressing to Streets Utilities Technician II and ending at the Streets Utilities Technician III level.

Qualifications:
Maintenance Technician:
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE: Some knowledge of basic mechanics, carpentry, plumbing and other repair techniques; common tools used in construction and maintenance work; basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
SKILL: Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools and light to medium equipment.
ABILITY: Perform a variety of semi-skilled, and skilled construction, repair tasks; willingness to perform tasks outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; perform physical tasks required of assignments; understand and carry out oral and written assignments; establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees and the public.

EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
TRAINING: High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: One year experience required for Maintenance Technician. Previous outside experience will count toward criteria to advance to higher levels, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain a CDL license including a safe driving record.

Streets Utilities Technician II:
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic mechanics, carpentry, plumbing and other repair techniques; of common tools used in construction and maintenance work; basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
SKILL: Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools and light to medium equipment.
ABILITY: Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled construction and repair tasks; willingness to perform tasks outdoors in a variety of climate conditions; perform physical tasks required of assignments; understand and carry out oral and written assignments; establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees and the public. Ability to respond to emergencies 24/7. Ability to effectively remove snow; operate a large snow plow truck.

EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
TRAINING: High School diploma or the equivalent; and CDL training, Road Maintenance, Flagging Construction Zone, Confined Space Training, Construction Site Safety training, Excavation Safety training required.
EXPERIENCE: 18 months as Maintenance Technician or equivalent position, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain a CDL license including a safe driving record.

Special Requirements:
A requirement for Streets Utilities Technician II: Possession of a valid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's license; maintain a safe driving record and have the ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug test.
