Details:
Full-time position at the Northglenn Water Treatment Facility as a certified Water Treatment Facility Operator working in the Utilities division of the Public Works & Utilities Department.

This position requires working by yourself on rotating 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

This is skilled and technical work in the operation and maintenance of our 14 MGD water treatment plant. An employee in this class is responsible for reading meters, taking samples of raw and partially treated water, operating pumps and for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of water filters and chemical feeders and related equipment. Work is primarily routine in nature but the employee must exercise judgment in correcting certain problem situations. Work follows established procedures and is performed under the direct supervision of a Chief Plant Operator. Work is reviewed through inspection and observation of the effectiveness of plant operation through the analysis of reports and chemical laboratory tests.

Qualifications:
Education Requirements: High school graduation (or equivalent).

Job Requirements: Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Access. Must be able to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis. Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record.

Desired skills: Two years experience in water treatment facility operations working with SCADA. College level courses in chemistry or related fields, the ability to perform math/chemistry calculations and laboratory testing procedures.

Must have a Colorado water treatment plant operator certification or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Comments:
Starting salary range will commensurate with experience and current level of Water
Treatment Facility Operator certification as follows:

Level "A" certification - $50,981-$68,036/year
Level "B" certification - $45,695-$60,983/year
Level "C" certification - $42,199-$56,317/year
Level "D" certification/Trainee - $38,970-$50,011/year

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
