The City of Northglenn is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Services team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
This full time position performs skilled technical work in the chemical and bacteriological analysis of water and wastewater.
Duties include: collecting water quality samples year-round; conducting chemical and/or bacteriological examinations; calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment; performing chemical and mathematical calculations; data entry. Additionally, this position may participate in public education endeavors, such as presentations, water festival booths and Water Treatment Facility tours.
Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include: college coursework in chemistry, biology or a related field; knowledge of routine water and/or wastewater chemical and bacteriological analyses; familiarity with current laboratory techniques and procedures; and computer skills (Microsoft Office and Access). Attention to detail and good organization skills are a must. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record are required (current motor vehicle record (MVR) will be required from applicants contacted for interviews). Successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical with a drug screen.
Comments:
Starting salary range: $21.96-$23.78/hour, depending on qualifications
(Full salary range is $21.96-$29.31/hour)
