Waste Management has an exciting opportunity for a wastewater treatment plant manager in Pen Argyl, PA. This is a great opportunity for a licensed WWTP manager with reverse osmosis experience.

I. Job Summary
Supervises employees and operations of wastewater treatment plant.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

•Manages personnel and daily operations of plant to maintain optimum disposal flow. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.

•Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.

•Fulfills purchasing function, including purchasing supplies, maintaining purchase order log, and reviewing P-card transactions, for the treatment plant.

•Assembles and analyzes data. Tests and monitors results and creates appropriate reports.

•Serves as a liaison between plant and vendors, contractors, management, security, and others.

•Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.

•Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

•Typical Monday to Friday shift 7:00am to 4pm or 5pm

•Saturday & Sunday for a couple of hours rotating with other employees every third week

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

•Direct supervision of 2 full-time employees including: technicians and operators.
Qualifications:Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.



A. Education and Experience

•Required: High school diploma or G.E.D., and four to six years previous experience.

•Preferred: Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience, and four to six years previous experience.

•Reverse osmosis experience strongly preferred

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

•Preferred: State Wastewater Operator Certificate (Class D-1 or higher).

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

•Previous plant supervisor experience

•Previous experience managing technicians

•Ability to troubleshoot equipment, therefore mechanical skills are preferred

•Ability to coach train and mentor direct reports

•Ability to analyze data and create reports using Microsoft Excel

•Ability to provide safety training

•Normal setting for this job is a treatment plant, but will include time in the field working at pump houses and blower buildings
