SUMMARY:
Responsible for installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical and pneumatic equipment / instruments / computer systems and related controls. Maintains and troubleshoots complex, technical, high voltage and/or potentially hazardous processes and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
•Installs, modifies, maintains, repairs, and calibrates electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems such as power distribution equipment, motors, motor controls, power supplies, sensors, alarms, telemetering equipment, HVAC systems, automatic sampling equipment, metering devices, computer hardware and computer periphery equipment.
•Installs, repairs, and/or replaces metering, transmitting, receiving and analytical devices associated with an automated wastewater treatment facility and biosolids application operation.
•Calibrates instruments or test equipment according to established standards.
•Designs layout work on panels; sets up complex control systems; interprets and alters drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
•Programs and modifies programs for programmable controllers, associated interface control devices and data acquisition equipment.
•Develops standard operating procedures.
•Works from complex engineering drawings to complete projects and assigned work. Performs related computer duties such as minor programming, logic or control changes, and system updates.
•Assists the supervisor in planning work, plus ordering materials to facilitate the completion of assigned work.
•Performs, tracks, and reports duties utilizing established Preventative and Corrective Maintenance
•Works on energized circuits ranging from low voltage DC to distribution voltage of 13.2KV in an industrial facility while adhering to the National Electrical Code.
•Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
•Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA, Instrument Society of America standards, and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering standards.
•Computer programming skills.
•Ability to use instrument, programmable logic controller, closed circuit camera security, security access.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Basic trigonometry and statistical analysis skills.
•Experience with installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
•Basic building maintenance skills.
•Experience with the operation of oscilloscopes, dead weight testers, and functional generators.
•Ability to read schematics.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Certificate from vocational or technical school in electronics, instrumentation, industrial electrical or related area; a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Water/Wastewater environment; three to five years related experience and/or training with electronics, instrumentation, and/or automation systems; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
•Valid Colorado Driver's License.
•Certification as a State of Colorado Journeyman/Master Electrician.
•State of Colorado Class D Wastewater Operator certificate or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
