The Niwot Sanitation District is looking to fill the full-time position of Wastewater Operator for the .98 MGD activated sludge treatment plant using a Bio-Lac system and aerobic digestion.

The District is seeking someone who is a self-starter, detail oriented, has a positive attitude, good work ethic, good organizational skills and can work well with a small team. This individual will be included in the District on-call weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications:
This individual will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the treatment plant and collection system. The duties include performing daily plant checks, maintenance of the head works, aeration basin, clarifier, biosolids basin, chlorination units and lift stations. Maintain and service filters, blowers, chlorinator and other equipment. Assist with line locates, manhole inspections, service line inspections, collection system maintenance and repairs, customer backups and follow-up. Performs routine lab analysis and assists with maintenance of buildings and grounds.

This position has the potential of advancing to Sr. Wastewater Operator in two years.

Comments:
Applicants should have a Class B Wastewater Certification, acquiring a Class A Wastewater Certification within one year of employment, a minimum of three years experience in wastewater treatment and operating an activated sludge system, and a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must possess a valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean motor vehicle record, and must live within 30 minutes of the District boundaries in order to respond to emergency call-outs. Will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
