The Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN) is one of six Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) centers funded by Congress through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance. MAGLOCLEN and the RISS centers provide a wide range of strategic and tactical support to all levels of law enforcement. The Strategic Intelligence Analyst position reports directly to the Senior Supervisory Intelligence Analyst at MAGLOCLEN who manages the Analytical Services Unit.
The position of Strategic Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the research and preparation of strategic threat assessments and intelligence reports as they relate to organized criminal groups and their activities, as well as emerging criminal trends. This position will require the employee to become a subject matter expert with regards to their assigned criminal topic areas and share this expertise with the law enforcement community through oral presentations, written products, and trainings.
This employee will satisfy intelligence inquiries from all levels of law enforcement throughout the MAGLOCLEN region, and beyond.


Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Any equivalent combination of education, relevant training and relevant experience that provides the desired level of knowledge, ability, and skill may be considered.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing. Public speaking and the development of oral presentations is a requirement of this position.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to effectively collate and quickly analyze large volumes of disparate data are critical to this position.
• Strong interpersonal skills will allow the candidate to develop and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement and criminal justice personnel at all levels to coordinate interagency cooperation and criminal information exchange in areas of mutual interest. These professional relationships will be developed over the phone, in person, at events and through email.
• Requires strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Adobe suite of products and other software programs. Knowledge and use of the Internet is critical.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks and work with stringent deadlines.
• Must be able to exercise independent judgement, discretion and high level of confidentiality.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation prior to employment (includes credit check, DMV, criminal history, employment history, educational history, and personal and professional references.)
• Ability to obtain and hold National Security Clearance.
• Candidate must be willing to travel as needed, including air, in order to represent MAGLOCLEN at conferences, trainings and intelligence meetings. Work related travel will be reimbursed.

• This is a full time exempt position.

Annual Salary: $48,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience
