The Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN) is one of six Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) centers funded by Congress through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance. MAGLOCLEN and the RISS centers provide a wide range of strategic and tactical support to all levels of law enforcement. The Intelligence Research Technician position reports directly to the Senior Supervisory Intelligence Analyst at MAGLOCLEN who manages the Analytical Services Unit.
The position of Intelligence Research Technician is responsible for the preparation of MAGLOCLEN’s Weekly intelligence publication, the daily monitoring of law enforcement sensitive and open source outlets on behalf of MAGLOCLEN, and the preparation of law enforcement articles for inclusion in MAGLOCLEN’s monthly intelligence publication. In addition, this employee will assist the entire Analytical Unit in designated criminal intelligence research projects, facilitate the creation of MAGLOCLEN Member Agency Success Stories, cross train with the responsibilities of MAGLOCLEN’s Publicist, and liaison with the RISS suite of intelligence databases and portals. The Intelligence Research Technician will utilize existing and emerging digital publication software to prepare assigned products.

Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Any equivalent combination of education, relevant training and relevant experience that provides the desired level of knowledge, ability, and skill may be considered.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to quickly collate significant amounts of disparate data to produce professional written products
• Requires strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Adobe suite of products and other software programs. Knowledge and use of the Internet is critical.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks and work with stringent deadlines.
• Must be able to exercise independent judgement, discretion and high level of confidentiality.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation prior to employment (includes credit check, DMV, criminal history, employment history, educational history, and personal and professional references.)


Comments:
• This is a full time exempt position.

Annual salary: $40,000 annually, plus generous health, dental, vision and retirement savings plan benefits
