Trinity College is pleased to announce a new opening for a Senior Data Analyst who will conduct analyses of institutional data, and provide the campus community with accurate, clear, and relevant information for communication and decision making. As a member of the Analytics and Strategic Initiatives Center (ASIC), this position reports to the Director of Institutional Research. The Senior Data Analyst conducts survey research, performs statistical analysis of institutional data, and fulfills ad-hoc data requests. The ideal candidate will have experience with data analysis, strong written and oral communication skills, facility with data handling, and the ability to effectively visualize and communicate results. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with an interest in and understanding of higher education, a solid foundation in data analysis, and a willingness to learn new skills as needed.

Our recently merged analytics and enterprise applications team is at the center of several current and planned initiatives that will enhance the College’s ability to use data, analytics, and AI as strategic differentiators. We’re searching for a dynamic, driven, and innovative Analytics Developer to join our new team. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Build impactful Power BI reports and dashboards, transforming data into compelling stories and actionable insights.
  • Gather and interpret reporting requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Analyze business processes and source systems to improve data quality and analytics outcomes.
  • Maintain and contribute to semantic models published to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Design and implement strategies for incorporating AI into analytics workflows.
  • Develop and maintain data quality frameworks for reliable datasets.
  • Work independently while collaborating with analytics peers to build a robust data analytics portfolio.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience is required (3-5 years preferred).
  • Solid experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and report publishing. 
  • Exposure to semantic modeling and data transformation techniques. 
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. 
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and enthusiasm for using its capabilities. 
  • Experience working with administrative or operational departments at an institution of higher education. 
  • Enterprise-level data modeling.
  • Understanding of relational databases and basic ETL/ELT concepts. 
  • Interest in data governance, metadata, and data quality practices.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.
