- The Associate Director of Institutional Research, under the guidance of and reporting to the Executive Director, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, will formulate and conduct statistical studies addressing issues of institutional effectiveness such as retention and graduation rates, university rankings, and projecting modeling which will inform the decision-making processes of the university. The successful candidate will excel in presenting the results of these studies in written reports which will include data visualized through charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards. The Associate Director will also oversee the standard functions of institutional research, receiving and prioritizing all internal and external data requests and managing their accurate and timely fulfillment. The Associate Director responds professionally to special data and research requests from senior administrators.

Essential Functions:
Designing and implementing statistical research projects related to issues such as ranking, retention, enrollment, student outcome measures, benchmarking, KPIs, and other areas of institutional effectiveness; Understanding large databases, including the skillful and accurate extraction of pertinent data from them, and collaboratively striving for the improvement of the quality of data in the university’s enterprise information systems; Writing reports that clearly and effectively present the results of statistical research that include data visualized through interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, and tables; Receiving internal and external requests for data, prioritizing the requests, and managing the workflow that results in timely and accurate fulfillment of the requests; Collaborating with the Associate Director for Data Management to ensure the accuracy of data reported internally and externally, including multiple reviews of data for accuracy before their release; Responding professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner to all ad hoc requests from senior management, including the university’s president and provost.
