The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment provides leadership and support in the practice areas of organizational intelligence, strategic planning, outcomes assessment, strategic enrollment management, and accreditation. The Institutional Research Analyst and Programmer provides technical leadership and support for data-centric programming and mining, report writing, research and statistical analysis to facilitate a culture of data-informed decision-making. This position will be part of a small team, with extensive interface with decision-makers, stakeholders, regulators, and the public. The position will conduct all phases of quantitative and qualitative analysis and research for administrative and academic management data-informed decision-making. Qualifications: Required: * Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Business or a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience. * Intermediate knowledge and use of SQL, Excel, VBA, and Access, relational databases, report and query writers. * Advanced knowledge and understanding of dynamic relational databases, tables, records, and effective dating. * Intermediate experience in designing, developing, and creating algorithms using one or more computer program languages. * Advanced abilities and skills to cross reference data across multiple platforms. * Advanced ability to develop complex reports and queries to meet institutional reporting requirements. * Prior experience and knowledge with PeopleSoft or similar ERP system. * Must be detail-oriented and have demostrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through all phases to completion. * Able to work independently as well as in a team environment. * Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel. * A high level of independent judgment and analysis is required and ability to interact collaboratively and cultivate partnerships with other departments. * Ability to travel for training or meetings, both in-state and out-of-state. Preferred: * At least 3-5 years of progressive data extraction, analysis, and programming in higher education or other related field experience. * At least 3-5 years of experience programming in SQR and/or R. * Experience producing data visualizations with Microsoft Power BI. * Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
