Brief Description
The IR Business Analyst will serve as subject matter expert in various Institutional Research initiatives that involve the analysis of institutional data to facilitate efforts to expand the use of information in academic and administrative planning. In addition, this individual will be pivotal in the development of an Enterprise Data Management and Analytics system. The Analyst will work with various constituents to develop data sets, dashboards, and visualizations that will be consumed by the College community.

Job Details
Job Responsibilities:
• Extract and transform data for analysis, using demonstrated knowledge of relational database systems
• Conduct data validation and design methods to improve data integrity
• Designs data models that can efficiently be utilized as source data for various external and internal reports
• Develop strategies to support college-wide initiative to implement data storage and analytic platforms
• Ability to integrate data from various systems, identify patterns, and find conclusions from complex data sets
• Serve as technical liaison between IT/IR and Functional areas; leveraging technology to improve business processes
• Complete reports to maintain compliance with various accrediting bodies, government agencies and other external bodies (e.g., NYSED, IPEDS, Middle States, CDS, etc.)
• Develop various dashboards and visualizations to monitor key performance indicators for various departments. Determine data needs of departments and programs through open communication and collaboration
• Designs IR survey projects including, administration, data collection, quality control, analysis, and executive reporting
• Coordinate with Executive Director to develop periodic reports to the Board of Trustees and its Committees

Experience and/or Skills Required:
• 2-5 years of related experience with Institutional Research, business analytics, information systems management, data integration, and organizational effectiveness
• Familiarity with relational database systems and non-relational database systems (i.e. data-lake, graph databases).
• Ability to identify gaps in business processes and provide data-driven solutions that will yield operational efficiencies.
• Excellent communication skills, including report writing, interpersonal communication, email, and presentations.
• Ability to travel between locations may be required.
• Preferred: Business process and analytics in higher education setting

Education Required or Min Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, including background in analytics, survey design and administration, statistics, and creating presentation materials preferred.
