Brief Description
The Data Systems Documentation & Training Coordinator (DSDTC) works closely with all members of the Data, Analytics, & Reporting Technology Services team (DARTS), as well as additional personnel within IT, to ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate documentation for analytical reporting tools, reports, and dashboards. The DSDTC works closely with analytical reporting tool users to provide training and support in the functional aspects of the usage of these tools, and to refer technical issues to the Data Systems Administrator (DSA), as well as data issues to the Data Quality  Analyst (DQA) and the Data Visualization Analyst (DVA). The DSDTC works closely with the DSA to ensure that users recently granted secure access are offered appropriate training and documentation to ensure successful adoption of tool usage.

Job Details

Essential Duties:

  • Create and maintain a catalog of analytical reporting assets, including reports and dashboards, to enable use by end users with varying technical skillsets and varying levels of experience with data
  • Document and maintain report, dashboard, and data element definitions
  • Develop & maintain training materials, how-to guides, and other related information to ensure end users can leverage BI tools
  • Assist in the documentation of processes, guidelines, data formats, & data dictionaries for technical team members and for non-technical end users
  • Provide training to end users on the use of DARTS-provisioned tools and their features
  • Address non-technical user questions involving BI tool usage, refer technical questions to DSA, and data questions to DQA & DVA
  • Design, implement, and maintain a repertoire of BI reports/dashboards for demonstration purposes
  • Create and modify UMS reports & dashboards
  • Assist in the gathering of requirements & specifications for analytical reporting deliverables

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent relevant experience and education.

Preferred:

  1. Prior experience teaching or training
  2. Prior experience with organizing high volumes of information
  3. Experience in a higher education setting, especially with higher education data

Other Information:

The salary range is mid $30's to low $50's based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.  In addition, the UMS retirement program provides a 10% employer contribution.   The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs.
