Brief Description
Ursinus College is seeking a Director of Enrollment Operations and Analytics to lead a newly created department within the Enrollment Division. Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Enrollment Management, this position is charged with enhancing the data-centric approach of the division through strategic project management. The Director, in collaboration with key internal and external partners, establishes, maintains, evaluates, and revises best practices in the execution of operational and analytical processes of the division, thereby supporting the ambitious vision of the institution to be the first choice for prospective students.

Overview
The Director leads a motivated operational unit striving to support the college’s enrollment efforts through the application of highly functional processes and enhanced utilization of technology. With a total team of four direct and indirect reports, the Director works collaboratively with senior leadership to support the day-to-day operations of the division while harnessing data-centric modeling and reporting efforts to inform the strategic direction of the enrollment division. This includes the effective streamlining of practices, collection and analysis of key metrics, and development and delivery of accessible presentations.

Responsibilities
The Director will be confident and team-oriented, with aspirations for campus-wide involvement and impact. S/he will act as a resource for direct reports and campus partners alike and exhibit professionalism in every interaction. The Director will:
  • Design and maintain appropriate dashboards incorporating maps, graphs, and tables that provide clear, accessible statistics for decision-makers
  • Create and maintain effective yield models which advise admission and financial aid decisions and provide interval estimates of first-year enrollment
  • Model aid-awarding strategies, subject to budgetary constraints and institutional priorities, that enable the college to wisely allocate financial resources
  • Partner with the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness on external reporting, survey design and deployment, dashboard development, and enrollment research related to student persistence, among other projects
  • Collaborate and manage select, third-party strategic partners in support of enrollment programs and initiatives
  • Integrate concepts and data from sources such as institutional databases, the Admitted Student Questionnaire, College Board, the National Student Clearinghouse, and IPEDS (Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System) to create analyses that serve the college’s strategic enrollment management efforts
  • Produce executive-level reports including an annual study of matriculating and non-matriculating admitted students
  • Serving as the Enrollment Division’s chief data steward, ensure data cleanliness through best practices in collection, maintenance, and assurance of the admission CRM and financial aid SIS
  • Oversee the effective operations of the Enrollment Division, including, but not limited to, systems maintenance, decision coding, and confidential care of student records
  • Provide enrollment data support for both interdivisional colleagues as well as campus-wide constituents
  • Engage in long-term planning and evaluation, as well as resource assessment and budgeting procedures
  • Assist the VP/Dean in meetings with key constituencies such as the President’s Cabinet and the Board of Trustees
Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in statistics or social science research, with preference for candidates holding an advanced degree focused on statistical analysis and modeling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reporting and analytics used in data presentation to inform and influence decision-making, including technical proficiency in Excel and statistical software such as SPSS. Preference for candidates with fluency in SQL and working knowledge of Tableau, Technolutions Slate Software, and/or Ellucian Colleague Student Information System and its associated reporting function, Colleague Reporting and Operating Analytics (CROA)
Additionally, the desired candidate will have previous supervisory experience, with a keen understanding of the transparent establishment of expectations and accountability, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in project management, research, and/or a higher education environment.
