Summary
Demographic Perspectives is a nationally recognized consulting firm based in New Haven, Connecticut that provides data-driven research solutions for strategy, assessment, communications, and for managing change.  Our key sector is education (colleges and universities and K-12 independent schools), where we provide planning support for admissions, career and student services, facilities, alumni and parent engagement, residential life and housing.  We also support government, non-profits, and small businesses.  We are proud to offer a unique niche process and product to a wide and diverse range of national clients.  (Note: our website is currently being revised.)

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Principal and Founder on all projects.
  • Manage data analysis and presentation for all survey projects, coordinating with other team members to write survey reports.
  • Lead and coordinate research projects and data exchanges in areas such as best practices and current market trends.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, reports, memos and other materials.
  • Develop project plans, in coordination with other team members, to monitor planning, implementation and tracking of projects and specified deliverables.
  • Assist in business development, including drafting proposals, and preparation of marketing materials.
  • Coordinate and provide support to project team members.
  • Opportunity to research and publish on work-related topics of personal interest, and to attend and present at work-related professional conferences.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of BA and relevant work experience in an analytical field.
  • Advanced degree preferred in fields such as higher education, social research methodology, economics, psychology, business administration, with course work in research methods and statistics.
  • Solid technical background, demonstrating strong analytical skills and an ability to manage and interpret data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS (preferred), STATA, SAS, R, or similar.Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Desirable to have experience with effective data visualization and presentation survey software, such as Tableau, survey software, and project management software and tools, but will train.
  • Ability and initiative to learn new computer skills and programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor when communicating within team, and with professional colleagues and clients.Ability to contribute to and mesh with a collegial company culture.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple projects of varying scope.
