Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, the Assistant Director will serve as the project manager for multiple data collection and analysis projects, as well as produce annual and ad-hoc analyses to inform decision-making by academic leaders, and senior administrators.

Job Details
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 
  • Conceptualizes and conducts quantitative studies to provide decision-support for senior leadership.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates quantitative data on enrollment statistics, student retention, student transfer activities, grades, faculty analysis, and other student performance indicators.
  • Designs, develops, and organizes data management plans through various department data custodians. Performs data collection, statistical analysis of data, and compiles interpretation of results.
  • Provides data and statistical analytical studies to support campus decision making related to student, academic, facilities, human resources, and financial aid.
  • Responsible for compiling, preparing, and analyzing statistical data submissions to comply with reporting requirements for state and federal agencies. Acquires, manipulates, develops, and maintains data sets, verifying accuracy and consistency over time, in the context of evolving requirements regarding reporting institutional facts.
  • Manages professional staff, including assigning and maintaining work schedules, staff training, mentoring, and completing performance evaluations. Supervises and supports staff with conducting research, and reporting tasks.
  • Serves as a member on relevant campus-wide committees and helps develop effective strategies with regard to the success of the University meeting its goals.
 
 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or other relevant field required, Master’s Degree preferred. (8-10 years of relative work experience may be considered in lieu of Master’s Degree).
  • Understanding of current practices in institutional research
  • Familiarity with the administrative and academic operations of private universities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service, presentation, problem solving, analytical, and business skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data management, analysis, and reporting
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of MSOffice software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and at least one statistical software( SPSS, SAS, Stata, R).
  •  Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with university constituencies, including senior-level administrators, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  •  Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the Jesuit educational mission and values.
