Brief Description
Saint Michael's College is searching for a staff member to fulfill the technical and analytical functions necessary to enhance the College's overall institutional effectiveness, by providing internal decision support services and coordinating with other campus offices to provide timely and accurate external disclosures. This person will play a key role in development of a redesigned program to coordinate external reporting and survey completions, and conduct internal research to provide insights into institution-specific issues. Depending on experience and qualifications, there is opportunity to play an expanded role in survey design and accreditation support - providing further contextual intelligence related to external trends related to higher education and issues of the broader economic/political environment.

Job Description:
  • Data management and analysis - Prepares fall and spring enrollment census snapshots; Develops a centralized survey function; Uses SPSS, Rapid Analytics/VEERA, Informer, Business Objects, Tableau, Java/SQL queries and other tools for data query, preparation, analysis and presentation
  • Collects and/or provides data for internal use - Administers senior survey; Coordinates or assists with other institutional studies (NSSE, etc.); Compiles annual campus Fact Book; Coordinates preparation of Common Data Set
  • Coordinates external reporting - Serves as IPEDS primary key holder, Submits CSRDE retention and graduation data and National Student Clearinghouse data re: graduates and non-matriculated accepted students
The Senior Data Analyst will also assist with the following:
  • Design and development of broad "system of record" (data warehouse) for College reporting
  • Data Governance program, involving both College data and the GMHEC ERP system
  • Public disclosures, including HEOA consumer information

Requirements:
  • Advanced degree - statistics, social science or other relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating an understanding of research principles & methodologies, statistics, large data sets, data retrieval & preparation, and database theory
