Brief Description
The Fisher College Office of Institutional Research (IR) is seeking a paid research intern for the Fall 2017 semester. The intern will be able to gain valuable experience in the typical functions of an IR office, including assessment, program evaluation, internal and external reporting, as well as data-driven decision support. The Intern will be a valued member of a team that provides analytical and technical assistance for both ad hoc and cyclical reporting under the direction of the Director of Institutional Research. The position is flexible as to specific days and hours of the week, but two full time days of 7 hours a week would be ideal.

Job Details
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

· Compiling reports, charts, or graphs that describe and interpret findings.
· Supporting institutional research staff by proofreading reports and statistical tables for accuracy and completeness, as well as helping to reconcile discrepancies and investigate data anomalies.
· Assisting institutional research staff with departmental outreach by supporting them on collaborative projects, including the design and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects.
· Assisting in summarizing and producing reports, models, and summaries of data on relevant job market conditions, industry trends, and demographic/workforce information.
· Performing related duties as assigned.
· Maintaining security of confidential information.


Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Microsoft Suite proficiency
· Ability and interest to quickly learn to software and systems, including SPSS
· Ability to work independently and under pressure, to manage multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and to deal with changing priorities, while maintaining personal effectiveness
· Comfortable working independently and within a team

Graduate students seeking paid internship experience are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with an background or focus in Education, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field and/or experience in the use of statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS), Structured Query Language (SQL), and reporting tools such as Crystal Report or others.
