Cedar Crest College seeks a full-time Data Analyst for Institutional Research to conduct research and perform statistical analyses on complex institutional data, while creating reports and dashboards for use in decision making by offices throughout the College. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness/Registrar, the data analyst responds to internal and external requests for time-critical data and its analyses, while assisting in forecasting data resource needs for college offices and academic program reviews.
The successful candidate will support the Cedar Crest community as a whole to ensure the integrity of data systems and to make data accessible, consistent, reliable, and available in a timely fashion. The Data Analyst will coordinate the administration and reporting of external, national, student surveys, while creating and administering surveys as needed to support college activities. The position is responsible for organizing data collections for external entities such as US News & World Report, the College Board, and the Middles States Commission on Higher Education’s Annual Institutional Update, as well as mandatory reporting to IPEDS and the NCAA.
A bachelor's degree is required in a related field such as data analytics, statistics, business, psychology, computer science, or another field. Excellent quantitative, analytical and technical skills are necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Candidates must be able to effectively utilize SQL, Access, Excel, and SPSS (or other statistics software) and have experience with, or the ability to learn, data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI. Strong project management and analytical problem-solving skills--with experience in data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis--are a plus.
