Brief Description
The primary role of the Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) is to investigate, design, plan, conduct, and effectively communicate findings and insights from the thoughtful analysis of large and/or complex databases of information for the purposes of informing decision making and ensuring accurate and meaningful data reporting. Additionally, this position also serves as the primary contact for providing institutional data to the state and federal government and accreditation agencies. The BIA is responsible for Creating and simplifying data flows, data models, designing charts, graphs and dashboards that provide clear, accessible information. Specifically, the BIA is responsible for providing database system support suitable for applied statistical analyses using SPSS, excel, or R, that contributes to the production and efficiency of institutional research and analysis by the development of online data delivery tools (Tableau, SSRS, Amazon) and resources across various database management systems using Colleague, MySQL and SQL Server. The BIA collaborates with key internal peers specifically those in IS (e.g. programmer/analysts), and internal users of CCM data to understand institutional needs, ensuring that BI solutions are a fit to the evolving needs of the college. Participate and contribute in data warehouse architecture design.

Plays critical role in supporting the leadership for strategic planning and institutional improvement.  
Qualifications - Education Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in social science, math, statistics, computer science or related field. Coursework in statistics.  
Qualifications - Experience Minimum three years' relevant work experience in research design, collection and correlation of data, statistical analysis and reporting, data analytics and data visualization concepts and software (e.g., Tableau). Advanced knowledge of and experience with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R), MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and SQL based query tools (BOE).  
Qualifications - Skills Experience with information systems (e.g., Colleague), database management, institutional research, and assessment in higher education preferred. 
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodology and the scientific method approach is also preferred.
