Brief Description
Under general supervision, the Research Analyst for Assessment is responsible for supporting the assessment operations and federal and state reporting of the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness office by retrieving data, conducting data analyses, designing and implementing research protocols, designing and administering surveys, conducting environmental scanning, and serving on college-wide committees. The analyst uses the College’s enterprise, business intelligence, and assessment management systems, SPSS, the Microsoft software suite, and other appropriate tools to carry out these functions. The analyst prepares written analytical reports, and collaborates with other staff in the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness office as needed to meet project goals and deadlines.

The analyst uses the College’s enterprise, business intelligence, and assessment management systems, SPSS, the Microsoft software suite, and other appropriate tools to carry out these functions. The analyst prepares written analytical reports, and collaborates with other staff in the Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness office as needed to meet project goals and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in social science, computer technology, management information systems or a related field.
  2. Two years of full-time equated experience in data analysis of large data sets, preferably longitudinal data sets.
  3. Two years of supervisor experience.
  4. Two years of experience in higher education preferred.
  5. Experience teaching in higher education preferred.
  6. Master’s degree or Ph.D. in social science preferred.

  3. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.
  5. Knowledge of the SPSS software package.
  6. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of assessment theory and practice.
  9. Able to provide multiple examples of working with assessment data and interpreting results using SPSS or other statistical software.
