The Forensic and Valuation Services SIG presents: Litigation Damages Methods - FVS SIG

Leveraging the successful first installment, this is the second in a series on how CPAs serve clients in litigation. Based on the first, introductory session, we will now explore the more technical aspects of calculating damages. This session will focus on helping practitioners apply the unique financial and accounting methods to measure economic harm to entities through a robust damages analysis. (All are welcome! It is not necessary to have attended the first session.)

Grant Thornton’s Bryan Moser, Partner, Forensic Advisory Services, will discuss how the capabilities of a CPA/CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) can be applied in the context of business disputes to prepare robust damages analyses.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Describe common types of damages calculations.
  • Identify components of damages calculations.
  • Identify damages experts' roles and challenges
